In brief : the bioenergy powerplant AEB, located in the Amsterdam harbour area, will produce electricity for 27,000 homes and heat for 25,000 homes from 2020. It will avoid the release of 67,000 tons of CO2 a year into the atmosphere.
At least 110,000 tons of wood from pruning and wood waste will be converted each year into renewable energy.
Several companies are currently working together on this powerplant. STOUT is in charge of all the structural part. VYNCKE will be responsible for the wood boiler manufacturing.
HAFFNER ENERGY, with more than 30 years of experience in energy, engineering and turnkey realizations, will be in charge of the steam turbine (8MWe), the condensing station (32MW of heat connected to the city district heating network), the medium voltage station and the delivering of low voltage power.
The concrete slabs of the powerplant floor have already been poured and the first process equipment are being set up.
HAFFNER ENERGY is proud of being involved in the AEB BEC project, in a logic of energy transition and ecology which fits with our values!
