Thermochemical Process Manager (Technical-Commercial Role)

Location:

  • Ideally based in Paris, Nantes area, or Vitry-le-François (south of Reims) in France
  • Or 100% remote if located elsewhere in France or abroad

Main Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), you will play a technical-commercial role, bridging engineering and business development. The mission is to design and deliver technical offers tailored to client needs and feedstock characteristics. Your role will also be to contribute to a technical dialogue with clients, while providing trade-offs and defining priorities.

Key tasks include:

  • Acting as a technical interface with clients, ensuring that client requirements and feedstocks are translated into commercial offers, and replying to the clients’ questions.
  • Sizing technical offers for biomass-to-biofuels and hydrogen solutions
  • Performing mass and energy balances to size and validate offers.
  • Developing and refining process models and simulation tools, primarily in advanced Excel (VBA required, Python a plus).
  • Contributing to prepare technical-commercial proposals in close collaboration with the business development team.
  • Contributing to the identification and assessment of existing technical solutions proposed by third-party suppliers.

Candidate Profile

Technical skills

  • Strong expertise in thermochemistry (biomass gasification, pyrolysis/thermolysis).
  • Good knowledge of applied thermodynamics.
  • Experience in process modeling (flows & mass balances, energy balances).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (simulation, macros, VBA).
  • Familiarity with P&IDs and engineering documentation.

Experience

3+ years in industrial environments (energy, biomass, or thermochemical processes).

Languages

  • English: fluent/native (mandatory), both written and spoken (C1+/C2 level)
  • French: professional working proficiency

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
