Olivier Piron

Permanent Representative of an Independent Board Member (Société E-Venture Management and Investment srl)

Olivier PIRON has overseen the international strategy of SNCB since 2023.

He began his career in audit at PwC (formerly Coopers & Lybrand), before joining Engie, where he served from 1997 to 2017 in a range of finance-related and internationally oriented roles. Initially based at the company’s Brussels headquarters, he was responsible for developing its European subsidiaries. He later joined the marketing and sales division, concluding his tenure as head of the German subsidiary, where he oversaw customer relationship management.

From 2001 to 2006, he held the position of Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of the G-14, a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG) representing the interests of the 14 (later 18) most prominent European football clubs.

Since 2017, in addition to his responsibilities at SNCB, he has undertaken occasional financial and strategic advisory assignments for companies operating across various sectors.

Olivier PIRON currently serves on the boards of Eurostar, Bene Rail and Rail Team.

He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Liège, a Director Effectiveness Certificate from Guberna, and completed the CEDEP General Management programme at INSEAD in Fontainebleau.
